I haven't messed with all that stuff since high-school, which was 10 years ago. If anybody can provide information on how to protect your IP while online, it would probably be useful. Also, what are the pros and cons of doing this, and is it legal/foolproof?
I'm actually on an open wireless network, but still, I don't count on anything to be able to protect my identity, really.

if you get banned from /b/ dont bother trying to use one to get on because they already block most proxies

www.torproject.orgRead the FAQ among other things it will allow for a moderately anonymous time on the internet and i believe is relevant to this Forum. it uses inbuilt proxy with the ability to "change identity" which is really only bouncing your data off a different server/router though i find it usually very effective but then again not everyone trawls malignant sites and such.

Exept it makes my computer think that I'm in Germany, so that means that I get German youtube google and hotmail!
